Stock Market Manipulation – Jim Cramer vs. Jon Stewart

Posted in Video, economy by Chris McCann on March 13, 2009

This was the video that started it all

(If the youtube video doesn’t play click here for the source)

Jon Stewart rips apart the financial network CNBC and shows multiple clips of CNBC’s “financial advice”. I used to think that the financial network did its best to give valuable unbiased reporting, but soon after trading stocks on my own I soon found out their “expert advice” was worthless and none of it could be used for real trading.

In this next video Jon Stewart comes out and admits that he took Jim Cramer’s last comment out of context but SLAMS him multiple times over by showing a few more clips of CNBC in their full context.

And last but not least the final video in the Jon Stewart vs. Jim Cramer Saga.

Jim Cramer and CNBC are finally put to shame in this video. Some of these comments are absolutely appalling. Before seeing this, I knew CNBC and Cramer were giving us bad advice but even I didn’t realize how much they blatantly lie. Stewart grilled Cramer on withholding his insider knowledge, fueling this bubble economy with speculation, and straight out admitting he committed illegal actions while trading!!

My favorite quote by Jon Stewart. “I understand you want to make finance entertaining but its not a fucking game and when I watch that I cant tell you how angry that makes me. What it says to me is you all know, you all know whats going on. You can draw a straight line from those shenanigans to that stuff that was being pulled at Bear and AIG and all this derivative market stuff that is this weird Wall Street side bet.”

As a bonus here is Jim Cramer’s video on start market manipulation

I have no words for this one….

Thanks for this link. I have had the same experience as you when investing and watching these shows. I can very vividly recall Cramer saying google was going to 750 in 2008. Someone needs to look into his “charitable trust”.He constantly touts stocks. The morons on squawk box and fast money are just as bad. Cramer basically confesses to criminal activity on the last clip you posted. Maybe he should have an adjoining cell with Bernie.

Tom I agree that last video really pushed me over the edge. I used to really respect Cramer, in fact I bought every single one of his books awhile back!

But these videos have erased all the minimal trust I had left of Cramer. And it’s not just Cramer, I’ve lost all respect for all of the CNBC cronies

I used to have a site on this subject, but I got so much spam I had to close it. You seem to be better at weeding out the spam! Congratulations!
